Refund & Cancellation Policy
This policy explains the circumstances under which fees paid to Shrimad India Commercial Intelligence may be refunded or an engagement cancelled. Given the discreet, time-bound, and source-dependent nature of intelligence and verification work, our refund posture is necessarily different from that of off-the-shelf services. We have aimed to keep it fair and transparent.
1. Cancellation Before Work Commences
If you confirm an engagement, pay the advance, and then cancel before any substantive work has been initiated (i.e. no records pulled, no source approached, no analyst time materially incurred), we will refund the advance in full, less unrecoverable bank or gateway charges.
2. Cancellation After Work Has Commenced
Once substantive work has commenced, we will refund the advance proportionate to the work remaining, at our reasonable assessment, subject to a minimum non-refundable retainer of 30% of the engagement fee. We will share a brief work-done note in support of the calculation.
3. Completed Engagements
Fees for engagements that have reached delivery of the final report are non-refundable. The deliverable reflects the professional time, source effort, and analyst judgment expended.
4. Disputed Findings
Disagreement with the conclusion of a report — provided the report has been prepared in good faith and reflects our professional methodology — is not grounds for refund. However, if you believe a material factual error has been made, please write to us within 14 days of delivery with documentary support; we will review and, where warranted, issue a correction at no additional cost.
5. Unavoidable Non-Performance
If we are unable to perform an engagement materially (e.g. on-ground access denied due to lockdowns, force majeure, or unforeseeable jurisdictional restriction), we will refund the advance proportionate to work not delivered, less any unrecoverable third-party costs already incurred.
6. Engagement Cancellation by Us
We reserve the right to discontinue any engagement at our sole discretion where a conflict of interest, lawful-purpose concern, or breach of these Terms emerges. In such cases, the advance will be refunded proportionate to work not delivered.
7. Refund Mechanics
Refunds, where due, are processed within 10 business days of approval through the original payment channel. International wire reversals may carry SWIFT charges, which are deducted at cost. We do not refund in cash.
8. Subscriptions (where applicable)
Monthly retainers or subscription-style engagements may be cancelled at the end of the then-current monthly cycle by written notice with at least 7 days' lead. We do not pro-rate refunds for partial months unless explicitly agreed in the engagement letter.
